Chantelle Cameron is hoping to secure a trilogy showdown with Katie Taylor later this year, but ahead of the potential fight it has been revealed that she has split with long-term trainer Jamie Moore.
After initially beginning turning professional with Shane McGuigan, Chantelle Cameron teamed up with Moore in 2019, and became undisputed super-lightweight champion with a victory over Jessica McCaskill in Abu Dhabi in November 2022.
She went on to earn the biggest win of her career when she defended her belts against Katie Taylor last May, before Taylor was able to avenge the defeat when she came out on top in the rematch in November.
The two fighters are believed to be in negotiations for a third bout this summer, but Moore has told Pro Boxing Fans that he will no longer be involved in guiding her career.
“Me and Chantelle aren’t working together anymore. We’ve decided to go our separate ways. We’ve not fell out or anything like that, I wish her all the best. I’ll always love her and we’ve had a great ride together, but we’re not working together now.”
Moore has previously trained the likes of Carl Frampton, Martin Murray and Rocky Fielding during his training career, and his current stable features up-and-coming fighters such as Cameron Vuong and Aqib Fiaz.
While a Taylor vs. Cameron trilogy bout could be on the cards, there has also been talk of a rematch between Taylor and Amanda Serrano, with Jake Paul recently weighing in on the situation.
