Dereck Chisora could face Adam Kownacki this summer.
Eddie Hearn told Boxing Social’s Andi Purewal that the Polish heavyweight is one of the names in the to face the British veteran. All that is required is the contract signature of the 33-year-old and the fight is on.
Chisora (32-12, 23 KOs) has been championing the bout on Instagram and has already put pen to paper on his side.
July 9 had been a mooted date for the 45th fight of the 38-year-old’s career. Conor Benn had been scheduled to go on that day too, but Hearn told Boxing Social earlier in the week that they move to a month or two later for a “big, big fight” in welterweight deep waters for ‘The Destroyer’.
Both Chisora and Kownacki (20-2, 15 KOs) are coming off back-to-back defeats against Joseph Parker and Robert Helenius, respectively.
With The O2 Arena, London the likely venue Hearn will be banking on a lively UK based Polish support. A vocal contingent turned out for Michal Cieslak’s cruiserweight world title challenge against Lawrence Okolie in February and will likely attend in greater numbers next time around.
