Boxxer Promoter Ben Shalom has revealed that veteran heavyweight Dereck Chisora “isn’t interested” in a fight against Hughie Fury.
Shalom had hoped to match the pair on Sky Sports, but Fury will now have to look elsewhere. As for Chisora, now a promotional free agent, there are other options to look at.
“We are looking at options and speaking to his team. We have our idea of what works for us,” Shalom told Sky Sports.
“Other options? Michael Hunter, Chris Arreola, maybe Dominic Breazeale.”
Chisora has ruled out retirement despite not having won since beating the now retired David Price in 2019.
Since then, the 38-year-old has lost to Oleksandr Usyk and Joseph Parker twice.
Hughie Fury had been ordered by the WBA to face Robert Helenius in a world title eliminator last month and his father and trainer Peter told Boxing Social they would gladly take the fight.
Shalom, who promotes Hughie, said: “That can happen. He wants a big fight now.”
“He also wants the winner of Daniel Dubois vs Trevor Bryan. He would also like to fight Bryan before Dubois, if possible.”
