Anthony Joshua received a callout from a fellow heavyweight at the Deontay Wilder vs Robert Helenius show this weekend – however, it was NOT from the victorious Wilder.
Chris Arreola has been linked to a fight against AJ for his return to the ring, originally planned for December 17th, and it would appear those rumours were true.
The American, who was sat ringside at the fight, sent a foul mouthed message to Joshua when speaking to ESNews, imploring the Brit to take the fight after revealing talks had already taken place.
“That’s [Joshua fight] one of the things that’s been in the works. I’ll take that fight – I love it!”
“Joshua, don’t be a b***h! Let’s make this motherf***er happen bro.”
“I’m a fighter, I love fighting, so let’s f***ing fight. Let’s make it happen – here, there, wherever you want to make it.”
Arreola was last in action over a year ago, losing a 12-round decision to former Joshua foe Andy Ruiz Jr back in May 2021.
‘The Nightmare’ has also shared a ring with Deontay Wilder, suffering the same unfortunate fate as most Wilder opponents when he was stopped in 8th round of their 2016 meeting.
The subject of Anthony Joshua’s next opponent has been one of hot discussion, particularly since it became clear to fans that an all-British clash with Tyson Fury would, yet again, not be happening.
Former Fury opponent Otto Wallin appears to be the frontrunner for a December date against Joshua, with the Swede’s promoter Dmitry Salita revealing Eddie Hearn had been in contact about a potential fight.
