Conor Benn and Chirs Eubank Jr have once again reignited their latest feud on social media.
The hatred between these two goes all the way back to October 2022 when they were set to square off in the ring but Benn failed two drug tests late in the day.
He has always protested his innocence since then but as of yet has not managed to prove it despite several hearings and appeals. He has fought just twice since the ill-fated fight was cancelled, both times in America, and has both times failed to look as good as he did while building momentum before he failed the tests.
In the meantime, Eubank Jr has had a two up-and-down fights with former middleweight world title holder Liam Smith. The first saw Eubank knocked down and stopped for the first time in his career in a strange fight that left many wondering whether he had drained too much weight for the Benn fight and not fully recovered in time for this bout.
The rematch just a few months later saw Eubank get his revenge in some style. He put on arguably his best ever performance in the ring to stop Smith, but has failed to capitalise on that and has not been in the ring again since.
Since then a fight between Eubank and Benn has been teased as being close by promoter Eddie Hearn many times but as of yet nothing has materialised and Benn still remains without a licence to fight in Britain.
Now the pair have renewed their war of words online. It started when Eubank shared a video of Gervonta Davis laying into Benn and Eddie Hearn and tagged Benn in it.
Benn was quick to respondhaving previously said he was a ‘promoter’s dream.’
“Nice to see you popping up. Can you not get a big fight? Thought you was fighting Crawford you w***er.”
Eubank took the bait and issued a swift riposte.
“Aren’t you still banned from fighting in the UK for cheating? Doesn’t get much more w***er than that does it you little nerd?”
The back and forth continued as Benn then brought Chris Eubank Snr into it.
“Give the your old man a call you’ve broken his heart and get him back on the books instead of letting him flog Harry … W***er !”
Whether or not verbal sparing is as close as we ever get to seeing these two compete only time will tell, because right now a fight still seems a long way off.
