Conor Benn has been linked with some of boxing’s biggest names in 2024 but is yet to announce his next opponent. Now, with two of the names that Benn has called for in the past set to collide, he has revealed his prediction for Devin Haney vs. Ryan Garcia.
Benn’s career, in the U.K. at least, appears to have been put on hold after the BBBofC and UKAD’s successful appeal against the decision to lift Benn’s suspension, following his infamous drug test back in 2022.
Yet, since then, Benn has called out each and every superstar in the United States, most recently coming close to a bout with Gervonta Davis but also claiming that Garcia ‘would get slept’ if they were to ever go toe-to-toe.
In a more serious call-out, Benn also offered to step in and replace Garcia for the upcoming showdown with Haney, amid widespread concerns that ‘King Ry’ is mentally unstable and therefore not fit to fight.
On Instagram, Benn made it clear that Haney is one of his true targets, siding against the WBC champion and declaring how he believes that ‘The Dream’ will ironically be put to sleep inside four rounds, irrespective of Garcia’s uncharacteristic behaviour in the build-up.
“@kingryan stoppage in 4 rounds. Haney going to sleep #TheDream.”
Haney-Garcia will go ahead this weekend in New York, headlining a pay-per-view event that fans can purchase on DAZN.
Meanwhile, Benn’s fight to return to competing in Britain is set to go on, although fights with the likes of Manny Pacquiao and Jaron Ennis are being touted to take place in Saudi Arabia or the United States respectively.
