The potential fight between Conor Benn and Gervonta Davis has been given an update, after promoter Eddie Hearn was asked whether or not the offer to ‘Tank’ has been accepted yet.
It was revealed earlier this month that the Matchroom Boxing chief had sent an offer to American superstar Gervonta Davis about a potential showdown with Conor Benn, after the two men went back and forth on social media.
With talk of the bout appearing to simmer down, Hearn was asked by Pro Boxing Fans whether or not he had received a response from Davis.
“No, not yet. We’ll see where that goes. There’s a lot of movement on Conor Benn. There are probably five fights for Conor Benn that are approaching contractual stage.
“We had the hearing last week, in a couple of weeks that will all be resolved, then we’ll see where we’re going to fight next, I want to see him fight in the UK next, and it’s going to be a massive fight.”
One name that Hearn did divulge was Danny Garcia, and he says he would love to potentially make that fight on either side of the Atlantic.
“Not major talks, but Danny Garcia reached out to our team to talk to me direct, and I’ll be talking to him this week. I love the fight with Danny Garcia, USA or UK, there are four or five names and he’s definitely in the mix.”
An answer on the location of Conor Benn’s next fight could become clearer once the outcome of his appeal with the British Boxing Board of Control is finalised.
