# Tony Bellew And Josh Taylor Lead Messages Of Support For Hospitalised Connor Coghill

28-year-old featherweight Connor Coghill has been taken into hospital for observation following his loss to Hopey Price this month.

The Hull fighter, [who entered the ring undefeated](https://boxrec.com/en/box-pro/832883), was put down four times over the course of the final round TKO loss in Sheffield as part of the undercard to [Leigh Wood and Josh Warrington’s title fight.](https://wp.boxing-social.com/news/leigh-wood-stops-josh-warrington/)

Trainer Steffy Bull shared the news on social media yesterday, informing fans that, following headaches, his fighter has been found to have a bleed on the brain.

> “We are saddened to confirm Connor is currently in hospital under observation after a scan has discovered a bleed on his brain. Connor has had headaches since his boxing contest last week in Sheffield.

> Obviously it’s devastating news for Connor as boxing has been his life since a young age. He’s stable and resting and wanting people to respect his time during this difficult period.

Well wishes from the boxing fraternity were not in short supply, with former undisputed super-lightweight champion, Josh Taylor, sending love to Coghill’s family.

Former cruiserweight champion, Tony Bellew. said the news highlighted the brutality of the sport.
