WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford remains confident that an undisputed fight with Errol Spence Jr will happen.
The two fighters have been in negotiations to lock in one of the biggest match-ups in boxing but fans are still waiting on the confirmation they want to hear.
Last month Mike Coppinger for ESPN said that the fight is looking likely for November in Las Vegas.
Any announcement for such a mammoth fight that could be three months away isn’t likely to come in the short-term but that hasn’t stopped many being concerned that another super-fight may slip through the net.
Fight Hub TV recently caught up with Crawford to ask about the current status of the fight.
“I love that fight. Hopefully we can get that fight made real soon and give the fans what they’ve been looking for.”
Crawford is currently a free agent after parting ways with previous promoters Top Rank. Spence Jr, who holds the three other world titles at 147lbs, fights under the Premier Boxing Champions banner.
However, boxing politics comes in all guises and has a nasty habit of getting in the way of the bouts that boxing needs. Crawford, however, insists this one will happen.
“We definitely gonna get it done for y’all. We’re gonna get it done.”
The Omaha native is still to fight in 2022 and last fought in November 2021 stopping Shawn Porter in the 10th round of his fifth title defence.
Earlier this year Spence Jr got the same result when he added the WBA strap to his haul by beating Yordenis Ugas.
The 32-year-old, who also holds the IBF and WBO belts, then called out Crawford post-fight.
“I want Terence Crawford next. That’s the fight I want. I’m coming for that mother f*****g belt!”
