Dana White Makes Shock Statement On Fighter Pay

Dana White has made a shocking statement on fighter pay.

At a time when fighter pay is such a controversial topic in combat sports, especially boxing, the current face of Zuffa Boxing and former mixed martial arts promoter has made a bold statement on the issue.

Dana White On Fighter Pay

During an interview, White questioned why the UFC should pay unproven fighters huge minimums.

White said:

I should pay you $370,000 to see if you belong in the UFC?

The statement comes after one of Zuffa’s highest-profile signings came by way of Conor Benn.

Benn was reported to have been paid $15 million for his fight against Regis Prograis in Tottenham. He won that bout by unanimous decision back in April, on the undercard of Tyson Fury versus Arslanbek Makhmudov.

Could Dana White’s Fighter Pay Comments Push Fighters Away?

This also comes at a time when Zuffa have made another signing in Ryan Rozicki.

Rozicki is the upcoming opponent for Chris Billam-Smith’s homecoming in Bournemouth on June 6.

Could this statement from Dana White push fighters away, rather than attracting them?
