# Danny Garcia Reveals The Only Goal Left For Him In Boxing: “That’s The Dream”

Now 35 years of age and 40 fights in to his professional foray the consensus is that Danny Garcia is perhaps not a million miles away from calling time on his boxing career.

True as that may be, [the Philadelphia native](https://www.premierboxingchampions.com/news/danny-garcia-no-regular-guy) has revealed he is still has one goal on his list that is keeping the fire alive.

In a recent interview with [Fight Hub TV](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMAmFNcMmYo&t=967s), ‘Swift’ explained how he wants to be crowned a three weight world champion before he considers hanging up the gloves once and for good.

> “I want to be a three division world champion, that’s what I want to be. ‘Cause two is good, but three is a whole different kind of legacy.”
>
> “That’s why I want this Lara fight, because I feel like it makes the most sense for me right now as it is the fastest way for me to become three division.”
>
> “In a perfect world, I’d love to win this fight with Lara, have one more fight and then think what I want to do with my career. I wouldn’t say that I’m thinking about retirement, but I want to be healthy when I leave, I want to be a champion and I want to be a three division.”
>
> “That’s my dream, that’s my goal. Leave this game smart, wealthy and a great legacy and example for the kids coming behind me.”

Already a world champion at super-lightweight and welterweight, Garcia is hoping to land a title shot all the way up at middleweight against Erislandy Lara, who holds the WBA title.

That fight is not believed to be a million miles away from being signed, as per a recent interview with Lara.

[One man he certainly won’t be fighting is undisputed welterweight champion, Terence Crawford, who recently ruled the idea out entirely due to past comments from Garcia.](https://wp.boxing-social.com/news/terence-crawford-rules-out-rivals/)
