David Haye does not see Wilder vs Joshua happening in 2018

David Haye has discussed Anthony Joshua’s future moving forwards and says don’t expect him to put his IBF, IBO and WBA world heavyweight titles on the line in a mammoth unification showdown against the undefeated WBC heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder.

Anthony Joshua is currently hard at work as he draws ever closer to the second unification showdown of his career against Joseph Parker on March 31st at The Principality Stadium.

Haye believes that Joshua will target a more ‘easier’ target that could be more lucrative propositions financially for Joshua.

“I don’t see it,” Haye told iFL TV. “My gut instinct says no. Maybe next year.

“If Parker beats Joshua, then there’s a rematch. So Joshua vs. Wilder won’t happen this year.

“There are more lucrative fights out there for Joshua that he might feel are easier.”

This could have been ‘The Hayemaker’s sly way of throwing his hat into the ring in Joshua’s thinking following the unification against Parker.

Haye also has unfinished business to deal with before he locks horns with the world heavyweight kingpins. He is looking to avenge the loss he took in his last fight against Tony Bellew.

Bellew and Haye will collide once again on May 5th 2018, furthermore once again their clash will take place at the 02 Arena.

Haye said that his next performance is crucial to what he does next. Haye confirmed if he does suffer defeat once again he will not fight again.

“How I look after this fight is solely dependent on whether I fight again. It’s not about the result,” Haye said.

“If I lose then 100 percent I don’t fight again, if I win then it depends how I fight.”

Haye believes if he struggles to cope with the challenges that Bellew poses in the ring, he would be ‘crazy’ to target the champions in the division.

“If you can’t beat Tony Bellew real clean then thinking about any of these big names is just crazy.”
