Former cruiserweight and heavyweight world champion David Haye has announced a new challenge, where he aims to go from ‘fat’ to ‘fit’ in just 8 weeks.
On his Twitter, Haye revealed that he had purposefully put weight on for the last three months, in order to show what can be achieved by sticking to his usual exercise routine and diet.
“I have a certain type of diet that I have and I literally train once an hour a day, four or five times a week.
So I put on a bit of weight and I’ll show you, in eight weeks, what difference can be made.”
Haye has always been known for his great physique and being in tip-top shape, even after retirement. Many believe that a gruelling training regime must be required to maintain his look, Haye, however says that’s not the case.
“I do four or five hours per week of exercise and that’s enough to maintain this body shape. They seem to think it’s just a genetic thing, but I’m saying no it’s not. It’s about the protocol I live my life and the lifestyle that I lead. So I did an experiment, I stopped doing any exercise and started eating what everybody else was eating.”
[My] body fat went from 10% to 22.5% in three months, just by doing what everyone else is doing. I’m not over eating, I was just eating desserts, drinking alcohol with everybody else and this is what happens.
So I’ve put on a bit of weight but I’ll show you in 8 weeks what difference can be made.”
