# David Price Says Heavyweight On Undercard Would Have Dispatched Of Francis Ngannou

Former British heavyweight champion, David Price, thinks one heavyweight on the Fury-Ngannou undercard would have dispatched of the Cameroonian debutant in more comfortable fashion than ‘The Gypsy King’.

Tyson Fury edged out a split-decision win against the former UFC superstar in an underwhelming performance that has brought questions upon the current WBC champion. The duo topped a card in Riyadh which featured six heavyweight contests, with every fight ending in a stoppage barring the main-event.

In the highlight of the undercard, [Fabio Wardley made a first successful defence of his British title](https://wp.boxing-social.com/news/fabio-wardley-stops-david-adeleye-with-brutal-two-punch-combo-to-retain-british-title/), knocking out the previously undefeated David Adeleye in the seventh-round to cap off a dominant display.

When speaking of what Francis Ngannou’s next move should be, [David Price told Boxing News](https://youtu.be/KV0S0MWfGrY?si=r9EU3pUjvmtPp3Er) that he needs a big name and another ‘novelty’ spectacle, as even lower-profile fighters like Wardley have got the beating of him.

> “Fabio Wardley was on that card last night and I thought that he was brilliant. I think that he would have beaten Francis Ngannou last night.
>
> There are many heavyweight boxers who would beat Francis Ngannou, so the reality is that he needs to be in with a big name to give it the novelty effect, like it had last night. Only this time, whoever gets in with him, won’t have the same mentality going in.
>
> It’s got to be the right event for him, what has he got to gain from fighting Fabio Wardley?”

Matchroom Promoter, Eddie Hearn, has also shown an interest in a fight between Anthony Joshua and Ngannou, as well as declaring his [interest in making a fight with Fury and predicting ‘AJ’ would “end his career”](https://talksport.com/sport/1620653/laj-end-fury-career-eddie-hearn-tyson-fury-never-boxed-francis-ngannou/).
