# Davis-Romero grudge match set for December 5 in Los Angeles

Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis will face the trash-talking Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero in a battle of Floyd Mayweather promoted fighters at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on December 5.

The bout will take place at 135lbs where Davis (25-0, 24 KOs) currently holds the WBA Regular belt despite the popular Baltimore banger winning the same strap at 140lbs against Mario Barrios in June, according to Mike Coppinger of *ESPN.com*.

“These two guys, they despise each other,” Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe told Coppinger. “Ten years from now these guys will still hate each other.

“It’s a terrific fight, this will be like a modern day Hagler-Hearns fight from the opening bell. Tank’s the most exciting fighter in the entire sport and Rolly is a very exciting knockout puncher himself. This fight will definitely end in a knockout.”

True to form, Las Vegas’ Romero (14-0, 12 KOs) predicted a KO victory via his Instagram account.

“Rolly putting this kid to sleep on Dec. 5,” wrote Romero. “Bet the house on Rolly.”
