Sports streaming juggernaut DAZN has officially launched today in more than 200 countries and territories.
For an initial monthly price point of £1.99, sports fans worldwide are now able to sign up to the platform and watch a host of live world championship boxing and on-demand original programming.
Unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua kicks off a packed end to DAZN’s 2020 global schedule with a mandatory defence of his IBF title against experienced Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev on December 12th (available exclusively in the UK on Sky Sports Box Office).
Modern middleweight great Gennadiy “GGG” Golovkin makes his return to the ring on December 18th against mandatory challenger and former European middleweight champion Kamil Szeremeta.
The following evening sees long-time Golovkin adversary and pound-for-pound kingpin Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez return after an eventful year outside the ring.
After a very public split with former promoter Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions, Alvarez takes on Britain’s unbeaten WBA ‘Super’ super middleweight champion and Ring Magazine beltholder Callum Smith in front of a limited audience in San Antonio, Texas.
January 2nd sees explosive lightweight prodigy Ryan García take a sizeable leap up in opposition, and the precocious 22-year-old talent will be looking to stamp his authority on the division against battle-hardened Olympic gold medallist Luke Campbell for the interim WBC lightweight title.
“We’re excited to launch our global platform with an action-packed opening month featuring boxing’s biggest stars and a suite of premium original programming.” said DAZN EVP Joseph Markowski.
As well as a strong live fight schedule to close out 2020, DAZN’s global platform features an ever-growing archive of classic fights, athlete features and a slate of original programming including 40 DAYS, Saturday Fight Live and ONE NIGHT.
