Despite the lucrative offers and a huge market, it seems Anthony Joshua and Eddie Hearn are no longer entertained by the idea of fighting Deontay Wilder in the United States.
The unified heavyweight champion recently commented that he owes it to the British fans to fight Wilder in the UK.
“So with this Las Vegas talk, I owe it to everyone in Great Britain that has been supporting me to do my best to get this fight in the UK, in my opinion, that’s number one.
“He [Wilder] has kind of said ‘alright, cool, come fight me in America’. But the thing is with that, I owe it to the fans and everyone supporting me to do it here.
“And number two, if I go there, there’s a lot of tricks that they play in terms of referees and judges and that’s why I want to be at home where I’m secure,” said Joshua in an interview with Polly James.
The WBC World heavyweight champion and his team reportedly offered Joshua $50 million to fight in the US but ‘AJ’ looks to be UK bound.
‘The Bronze Bomber’ went on social media and posted a pair of tweets regarding Joshua’s new demands.
You see people talk the “G🤑🤑D” talk but are not prepared to walk thru the valley of the shadow of Death. To come and get it. He said he once went to hell and back and he enjoyed it.

Wilder had hopes that the aforementioned $50 million dollar offer would have sealed the deal for Joshua to fight in the states.
So, “You can go to hell and back” and enjoy it, but can’t come and get this money in dat bag to store it. Now these are Just my thoughts 🤷🏿♂️ maybe yours too, but shid, you can tag him. #ImEating🥩

Negotiations for the biggest fight in world heavyweight boxing are progressing slowly but surely. However, the unanswered key question remains the same: on which side of the Atlantic will the two heavyweight champions collide?
