Devin Haney will challenge Regis Prograis for his WBC Super-Lightweight World title on December 9 at the Chase Centre, San Franciso.
The Matchroom card – set for Haney’s hometown – has been rumoured for some time now, and will be broadcast on DAZN PPV in the States with a price to be announced. The event will land within the regular subscription price in the UK and other territories.

Haney (30-0, 15 KOs) recently confirmed that he would be moving up from lightweight to 140lbs in search of more titles. He will become ‘Champion in Recess’ with the WBC at 135, with the option of moving back down to face the new champion – Shakur Stevenson or Edwin De Los Santos – should he choose to.
His last impression in the lightweight ranks, for now, will be a unanimous decision over elite Ukrainian, Vasily Lomachenko. There were calls for a rematch given many in the sport believe ‘Loma’ did enough to win, but the American has clearly moved on.
He says that he will show levels in San Francisco this winter.
“I gotta step on you. I gotta crush you. You in my way. It’s levels, and I’m at the highest. I’m at the peak. Just another night for me, another victim, another body. I’m gonna f**k you up.”
Prograis (29-1, 24 KOs) has recently insulted his opponent’s power, and is clear the he wants to do serious damage in the ring following some spiteful back and forth between the teams.
He won the vacant belt against Jose Zepeda back in November last year, and has since had one relatively underwhelming defence in his hometown of New Orleans against Danielito Zorrilla.
The 34-year-old believes it’s going to be an early night at the office.
“I’m breaking you down bruh. Break your heart and break your will, take everything from you. You’re manufactured. You not real, you fake. I gonna keep stressing this over and over – I’m gonna hurt you.
You a little boy to me. Everybody that’s there, all your people bruh, they gonna see you knocked out cold. F**k boxing, this is gonna be a massacre.”
Details of the undercard will arrive closer to fight night.
