Devin Haney and his father have continued their long-running feud with Ryan Garcia and they have now sent a new threat to their former opponent.
Much of this year has been dominated by the back and forth between these two super lightweights. As soon as their fight in April was announced, the needle started and there was plenty of verbal sparring, a physical altercation or two, and lots of often unnecessary insults from Garcia about Haney’s motivations, religion and much more.
Come fight night and things remained just as controversial. Even before the first bell, Garcia failed to make weight and came in more than 3 lbs over the limit and then drank a beer during the ceremonial weigh-in.
During the 12 round WBC super lightweight world title fight itself, Garcia started well and rocked Haney early before going on to knock him down three times.
However, soon after the fight, news broke that Garcia had failed two drug tests, one before and one after the fight. He has since claimed his innocence while Haney has pushed to have the fight result overturned and wants his record to show a win with Garcia disqualified.
A new video on X show a rather mad Bill Haney sending Garcia a message.
“Ryan Garcia you good for nothing in the sport of boxing. You come out with four or five days left until your fourth positive PED test and say now you want to start your own league, that you don’t care if you’re banned from the sport of boxing, well you and everyone else needs a foot in your ass so you can call it the full of sh** league.”
Garcia, who was seen in Saudi Arabia for the undisputed heavyweight fight this past weekend, was quick to respond with his own message on X.
“This is getting outta hand 😭😭😭 wtf I’m just trying to enjoy my vacation. F*CK MAN 😂😂😂”
This war of words is likely to continue well beyond the b-sample results being revealed sometime this week.
