One of the biggest nights in the early part of the boxing calendar is Devin Haney versus Ryan Garcia and it now has an official date, broadcaster and rather surprising host venue according to Oscar De Lay Hoya.
Haney and Garcia have been going back and forth over social media all year which doesn’t always mean a fight will be signed, sealed and delivered but it seems this lightweight clash is very much on.
It pits two division champion Haney, fresh off the back of picking up a belt at a new weight the first time of asking after beating Regis Prograis, taking on Garcia, who is rebuilding after stepping up to face Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis and getting stopped last April.
Ahead of the fight, De La Hoya spilled the beans about the details of it in a post shared on X.
“@Realdevinhaney vs @RyanGarcia Will be live on @DAZNBoxing from @barclayscenter promoted by @GoldenBoyBoxing 4/20/24”
Both men have fought before on DAZN and the April 20th date had already been strongly discussed, but not many would have predicted the fight would take place in Brooklyn, New York, with fights of this magnitude more often hosted in Las Vegas.
