British heavyweight phenomenon Daniel Dubois returns to action against Ebenezer Tetteh of Ghana on Saturday night, in the resplendent surroundings of the Royal Albert Hall in Kensington.
Back in March, ‘Dynamite’ previously featured at the same venue when he demolished Romanian giant Razvan Cojanu in two rounds, as the chief support to Anthony Yarde’s successful showdown with Travis Reeves.
Since blasting away Cojanu, Dubois has produced consistently impressive displays, dramatically stopping Richard Lartey in a four-round April shootout in addition to putting on a clinic against previously undefeated domestic rival Nathan Gorman by stopping the Nantwich native in five rounds.
Tetteh, unheralded albeit undefeated with nineteen victories, has the opportunity to avenge his compatriot and capture the vacant Commonwealth championship with a win over Dubois, whose precocious skillset coupled with his devastating punching power now mean that he is generally regarded as a potential future heavyweight superstar.
The stakes are certainly high for what will almost certainly be an explosive encounter, and therefore it would be reasonable to expect Tetteh to come into this fight supremely motivated to spring a surprise.
However, ultimately, Dubois will also be coming into this fight equally prepared and determined to put on a show for a hometown crowd. Expect the composed young Londoner to quickly control his counterpart with his trademark spearing jab, before setting up the necessary combinations to get the Ghanaian out of there inside six rounds.
Leeds’ former Olympian standout Nicola Adams makes the maiden defence of her WBO flyweight championship against Maria Salinas on the card.
Super-featherweight contender Archie Sharp, super-middleweight prospect Willie Hutchinson and lightweight hopeful Bilal Ali will also be featuring on the bill in respective outings, as they look to augment their unblemished professional records en route to bigger and better things.
