Eddie Hearn has responded to a ‘warning’ from Oscar De La Hoya to ‘stay in his lane.’
The two have had an up-and-down relationship, working together on the likes of Dmitry Bivol versus Gilberto Ramirez and being backed by the same broadcaster in DAZN, but with various hints of animosity and rivalry.
That’s most recently manifested itself in a tweet from De La Hoya to the British promoter.
“Stay in your lane!! This is a warning!”
Hearn responded, some would say, in typical fashion – with a video of himself dancing.

Although it’s not explicitly clear what drove De La Hoya to initiate the exchange, many will assume that it was born from his recent public spat with his fighter, Ryan Garcia.
Following Garcia’s loss to Gervonta Davis, the promoter failed to turn up at the press conference and then criticised his fighter’s preparation to the media.
This boiled over in the form of a Twitter exchange in which Garcia called out De La Hoya for promoting a ‘fake’ fight with Manny Pacquiao that he had no interest in. For his part, De La Hoya told Garcia to ‘man up.’
Hearn recently told Boxing Social that it was set to blow up between the pair.
“I think it looks like any day now this is going to just erupt out of control. Everybody hears all sorts, we hear more than most, and it doesn’t look good … The whole thing’s a mess and I guess it’s about to explode real quick.”
Despite the back and forth, Garcia has not made any official moves to cut ties with his promotional company, and looks set to move up in weight and fight later in the year.
