Eddie Hearn has spoken out about the recent news that DAZN will now be available to watch on the Sky platform, and couldn’t resist a little tease.
It was announced earlier in the week that DAZN Flexi Pass subscribers could access content via channel 429 on Sky, in a move that is hoped will increase viewership.
Hearn give has thoughts on the move in an interview with IFL TV.
“I’m back on Sky baby – how d’you like me now?”
‘I’ve got a massive mouth, and it’s so hard not to let people know about that, it’s huge. For me, the platform is not necessarily about watching on Sky, but we also acknowledge that every user is completely app friendly and willing to digest content in that manner.”
“For the people that want to infiltrate fighters with bull****, it just ticks another box. It’s everywhere, it’s probably the most accessible platform in boxing and maybe even in sport.”
“All you have to do is press 429.”
It is believed that the ability to access content via Sky will be available for all DAZN subscribers in the coming months – not just those signed up the £19.99 per month subscription option.
Hearn knows about the Sky platform well, having had an exclusive broadcast agreement with Sky Sports for Matchroom shows for many years.
Despite the long lasting relationship, things are reportedly quite hostile between the two parties whom are now in direct competition with one and other.
Ben Shalom’s Boxxer shows now hold an exclusive deal with Sky Sports, with many observers impressed by the quality of shows the outfit have put together in the past 12 months.
