Eddie Hearn Reveals Plans For New Major Event With Frank Warren In UK

Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren have been working increasingly closely together of late and now Hearn has revealed that plans are afoot for a major new event in the UK.

Any day now news is expected about the much anticipated 5 v 5 fight card out in Saudi Arabia that will see fighters from Hearn’s Matchroom and Warren’s Queensbury promotional outfits fight one another.

First, the weight classes will be revealed and then the boxers for the event that is due to take place in June. Speaking on the Matchroom YouTube channel, Hearn has now provided an update.

“The filming has been done and it is down to His Excellency when that will be released. We have confirmed the weight classes which will be revealed soon, then there will be a press conference in April when the fighters will be revealed.

“The fighters, Matchroom, Queensbury, won’t know who they are facing, won’t know the line-up, until the press conference on the day. There will be some very interesting reveals that will blow your mind. It’s going to be a lot of fun, we can’t wait.”

Then came news of a potential second such event.

“His Excellency has talked about potentially doing a second version of this event in London in September. The format is going to be really compelling and exciting for the fans. I’m desperate to win, Frank is desperate to win, and there are going to be some massive fights.”

The card in June will of course be headlined by the undisputed light heavyweight contest between Dimitri Bivol and Artur Beterbiev, which will ensure it is a fantastic night of boxing.
