Eddie Hearn has named his price to step into the ring against Jake Paul – and the Matchroom boss doesn’t come cheap.
Hearn has had an up down relationship with the brash YouTuber, however the two have thus far managed to avoid resorting to violence against one and other.
And in a recent feature with KISS, Hearn revealed it would take a whopping $10 million for him to lace up the gloves and lock horns with ‘The Problem Child.
“$10 million – that’s the money it would take for me to fight him.
Everyone would pay to see it, because I’d get knocked out and a lot of people would like to see that, but I’d have a go.”
Hearn and Paul seemed to be the best of friends, minus a small disagreement over the latter’s boxing ability, whilst involved in the promotion for Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano at Madison Square Garden last May.
The pair were involved in a legal dispute by the end of the year, however, after Paul insinuated that Matchroom had bribed judges following Anthony Joshua’s loss to Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia.
After tasting defeat for the first time in his professional career at the hands of Tommy Fury, perhaps the slick promoter is the perfect comeback fight for Paul.
It does seem that a second clash with Fury is the likely option for Paul, though, as he confirmed in the immediate aftermath of the fight that he intends to activate the contractual rematch clause that was in place for the contest.
With ‘TNT’ publicly welcoming the prospect of another dance with Paul, it looks like Hearn will have to wait if he is to get his hands on the American.
