Eddie Hearn has done a 180 on a potential fight with Jake Paul, and now believes he would get the better of the brash YouTuber.
In previous interviews, Hearn had reluctantly stated Paul would be victorious if the two were ever to step into the ring together.
However, when asked on the DAZN Boxing Show which of Paul, Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor he would choose to fight, party with and manage, Hearn was of no doubt who he’d pick to trade blows with.
“I’d definitely fight Jake Paul because I’d actually win that fight.”
“I’d manage Katie Taylor, because we’ve done such a great job. She is amazing, and it’s a Puerto Rican party with Amanda Serrano.”
Although Hearn and Paul have had an up and down relationship, it is unlikely fans will ever see them squash their differences in the squared circle.
The Matchroom Boss actually promoted ‘The Problem Child’s professional debut against Anesongib, however has since stated he did not feel comfortable with the event.
The pair then worked together on the historic clash between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano at Madison Square Garden last year, which was a roaring success by all metrics.
Things turned slightly sour after Anthony Joshua’s unsuccessful rematch with Oleksandr Usyk, when Paul allegedly accused Hearn of bribing judges.
Understandably incensed by the former Disney star’s comments, Hearn reportedly began litigation against Paul, though it remains unclear what the current status of this is.
However unlikely it may be, a clash between the two would undoubtedly be one of the biggest commercial fights of the year, with Hearn previously admitting he would be willing to box Paul for $10million.
Whether Hearn’s confidence is justified is up for debate to say the least.
