Eddie Hearn has given his thoughts on the fresh beef that has emerged between Carl Froch and Jake Paul.
Paul called Froch out for a fight on social media earlier this week, prompting a comical back and forth between himself and ‘The Cobra.’
Hearn, however, told Boxing Social he doesn’t envisage a potential fight between the two as being particularly competitive.
“Froch hasn’t boxed for eight, nine years, but he’s still a right handful.
He’d be very rusty against Jake Paul, but he’d get hold of him and absolutely decimate him.
But it’s good for Frochy, good bit of exposure for him, back in the limelight.
He’s dying to fight is Carl, really. That’s the bottom line.”
Hearn worked with Froch for the majority of his career and promoted Paul’s professional debut against AnEsonGib, so there are perhaps few better placed to make a prediction on a clash between the pair.
Paul’s focus this week should be on another fighting Brit, with his fight with Tommy Fury just three days away.
The two young stars will put months of trash talking and social media call outs to bed this Sunday, when they lock horns at the Diriyah Arena in Saudi Arabia.
The contest is seen as make or break for both men and is widely expected to be the toughest test of either’s professional boxing career to date.
After their first two meetings were both cancelled, it looks to be third time a charm and all systems go for a long awaited cross Atlantic blockbuster.
Paul vs Fury is available for fans in the UK at £19.95 on BT Sport Boxing Office and $49.99 in the US via ESPN+.
