Eddie Hearn has given his thoughts on this weekend’s upcoming clash between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury.
The pair’s fight at the Diriyah Arena in Saudi Arabia is just days out, where months of back and forth and social media trash talk will come to a head.
And Hearn told Boxing Social that he is now convinced Fury will stop the brash YouTuber – despite originally picking Paul to get the victory.
“I have made a total U-turn on this fight. I thought Jake Paul was going to win this fight. I now think Jake Paul has absolutely no chance to win this fight at all.”
“If Tommy Fury comes out aggressively and puts it on Jake Paul, this fight will not go two rounds. This is a massive u-turn for me because both are limited, but Fury has been boxing for ten, twelve years – maybe more. He’s been in the ring against professional fighters, he’s done the hard spars.”
“He’s an outsider in this fight, but he is going to win by stoppage. He should come out like a train and he will stop him out.”
The Matchroom boss has had an up and down relationship with Paul over the past 12 months. The two worked together on the historic Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano fight, however by the end of the year Hearn had taken legal action against the American for insinuating that he had bribed judges.
This Sunday is the third time Paul and Fury have been scheduled to fight, with Fury pulling out on both occasions before – the first due to injury and then after being refused entry into the United States.
With the press conference and weigh in all to come this week, fans can be sure to expect more headlines to be made.
