Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has offered an important update on the future of former world champion Anthony Joshua.
Hearn suggests that Joshua might keep his relationship with trainer Ben Davison despite recent criticism. Joshua, who is looking to rebuild his career, faces the tough decision of strengthening his technical team before his next fight.
Since late 2023, Joshua has been working with Ben Davison after brief stints with Robert García and Derrick James.
The partnership with Davison started promisingly. In their first two fights together, Joshua secured convincing victories by stopping Otto Wallin and Francis Ngannou. These wins raised expectations among boxing fans for a possible resurgence of the British heavyweight.
However, Joshua’s recent loss to Daniel Dubois at Wembley changed the perspective.

Despite entering the fight as the clear favorite, Joshua was knocked down in the first round. He then fell again in rounds three, four, and five, which sealed his defeat.
This performance cast doubt on the effectiveness of Joshua’s corner work, and many boxing experts criticized his team for not providing the necessary advice during crucial moments of the fight.
Despite the criticism, Eddie Hearn has expressed confidence in Davison’s work. In an interview with @FightHubTV, the promoter stated that Joshua was in excellent physical shape and that his training had been impeccable.
“He’s happy with his training camp.
“In my opinion, there won’t be any changes,” Eddie Hearn assured.
Joshua’s immediate future in boxing remains uncertain.
Although he is expected to return to the ring in 2025, his next opponents have yet to be confirmed. The names of Daniel Dubois and Tyson Fury have emerged as potential rivals, adding anticipation to his comeback.
Meanwhile, Eddie Hearn has confirmed that Ben Davison will continue to be a key figure in Anthony Joshua’s team.
