The Jared Anderson hype train is gathering plenty of momentum of late, not least in part thanks to a number of great soundbites from the Toledo heavyweight who has now declared himself a ‘killer.’
‘The Real Big Baby’ has won all 14 of his fights in impressive fashion with big knockouts dating back to his professional debut in 2019. On July 1 he fights for the second time this year and faces his most recognisable foe to date as former IBF belt holder Charles Martin steps in as a late replacement for unbeaten southpaw Zhan Kossobutskiy following visa issues.
Speaking to FightHype, Anderson called himself ‘the heavyweight killer’ and vowed to stop anyone who gets in his way of reaching the top.
“I’m the heavyweight killer, you know. So I’m going go ahead and broaden that up, we stopping all of them. We coming through to beat everybody we need to beat.”
When praised for his physique, Anderson explains why his body shape is changing.
“I’m chiseling up because I’m maintaining my weight. I’m eating right, training right, staying active, and not having very many off days. I’m 240 [lbs] solid so I can only imagine how bad it’s gunna get for these fighters [facing me].”
In the last week or so, Anderson has had plenty to say – from admitting he has no love for boxing to breaking down in tears at a pep talk from Roy Jones Jr.
Anderson has been tipped to be the future king of boxing’s blue-ribbon division by none other than WBC champion, Tyson Fury, who has been in the ring with the American, having drafted him over to the UK for sparring.
This weekend, fighting in his hometown for the first time in front of local fans in Toledo, Ohio, Anderson will be looking to show his power and sweep aside another opponent in his march to a world title.
