During his 50 fight professional career, Floyd Mayweather shared a ring with a host of hall of famers, though not a single one was able to crack the code to defeat him.
And Mayweather has now revealed who was the best fighter he ever shared a ring with – and his answer may not come as much of a surprise.
Speaking on Million Dollaz Worth of Game, ‘Money’ named seven weight world champion Manny Pacquaio as the man befitting of such high praise.
“The best fighter I ever fought probably was Manny Pacquiao.
It’s because of his movement. He’s a hell of a fighter and I can see why he won so many fights and I can see why he’s going down as a Hall of Famer. It’s just certain moves he makes.”
Mayweather and Pacquiao locked horns back in 2015, in a fight that still holds all time records for pay per view sales, fighter purses and revenue generated.
Despite being the most anticipated fight of this millennium, the contest never really took fire and Mayweather was able to comfortably box his way to a unanimous decision victory over the Filipino.
There has been repeated speculation that the pair could run it back in an exhibition contest at some point down the line, but there are not believed to be any talks for this at the moment.
‘Pac-Man’ is remarkably gunning for Olympic glory next year, as he attempts to represent his homeland in Paris and become the oldest fighter ever to take home gold.
