Just when you thought the date was finally set – Floyd Mayweather says not so fast.
According to Lance Pugmire from the LA Times, Mayweather has cancelled the rumoured 26th of August date for the fight against Conor McGregor.
Told by two sources @FloydMayweather has retracted request to Nevada for Aug. 26 fight date.

Pugmire tweets that, neither Mayweather or McGregor have been officially licensed to fight in the state of Nevada. Also, Boxingnewsonline.net have spoken to Nevada State Athletic Commission Executive Director Bob Bennett and he confirms the news.
“We have not received all the documents for McGregor, Mayweather has not applied for his license, thus at this time there is no request for the fight,” told Bennett.
According to Pugmire’s sources, the fight will come to fruition but maybe just not in August.

It is official that McGregor has signed a deal to fight Mayweather. Meanwhile, Floyd does what he does best and plays the waiting game.
