Former UFC Heavyweight Champion, Francis Ngannou, has made it clear that he wants his next move in combat sports to be a fight with Tyson Fury.
Whilst the Ngannou also has his sights set on Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder, there seems to be more of a focus on ‘The Gypsy King’, and the pair have even had discussions in the past about a fight.
How that contest would look is anyone’s guess. When Ngannou turned down his latest contract offer from the UFC, it was widely expected that he would give traditional boxing a shot.
However, Fury recently created a bizarre – and unrealistic – setup of MMA gloves, boxing rules, MMA cage, and… Mike Tyson as referee. Whilst it’s highly unlikely to turn out that way, some mixing of the rules isn’t out of the question.

In a series of tweets, Ngannou confirmed he was open to the idea, and also posted a video of himself training with Fury’s most recent win – Derek Chisora – playing in the background as he watched on.

Fury recently stated that if his undisputed heavyweight title fight with Oleksandr Usyk can’t be made, Francis Ngannou is next on the list.
It’s not the only offer the MMA man has on the table, though.
Promoter Eddie Hearn recently opened up conversations with him about a potential fight with his superstar heavyweight, Anthony Joshua. Although ‘AJ’ is currently on a comeback, Hearn said that this was the type of fight he’d be happy to pause that for.
The final name on Ngannou’s list is Deontay Wilder who – like the others and unsurprisingly given the potential financial gain – is also open to being the Cameroonian-born fighters first dance partner in boxing.
