Frank Warren and Carl Froch’s war of words looks like it is going to rumble on the foreseeable future, with the Queensberry boss taking a fresh pop at ‘The Cobra’ this week.
Since hanging up the gloves, Froch has become known for not holding back in his assessment of active fighters and has found himself in a few quarrels as a result.
One such fighter was Amir Khan, who Warren claimed Froch was “so jealous” of, whilst appearing on Up Front with Simon Jordan.
“He [Froch] is one fighter who doesn’t like any fighters! All he does is slag them off.”
“He was so jealous of Amir Khan. He once fought in Nottingham and done about three or four thousand tickets, then we brought Amir up there and he sold the whole place out – in a six round fight! It was fun”
Froch famously said Khan was “only good for getting chinned” after his loss to Kell Brook last year, though since expressed his desire to bury the hatchet with the Bolton fighter.
Warren and Froch have found themselves entangled in a back and forth after the former champion criticised Tyson Fury, to which Warren responded by claiming Froch ducked Joe Calzaghe back in the 2000s.
As one would expect, that was not particularly well received by ‘The Cobra’, who labelled Warren’s accusations as “slander.”
Given Froch and Warren’s track record and reputation, boxing fans can be rest assured the feud is unlikely to end here, with further jibes and insults a near certainty.
