Frank Warren has weighed in with a prediction for the potential fight between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder.
Joshua and Wilder look set to face off in a monster clash in Saudi Arabia this December, in what would be one of the biggest heavyweight dust ups in recent years.
Speaking to SecondsOut, Queensberry boss Warren believes ‘The Bronze Bomber’ will have too much for the Brit and also added that a fight between ‘AJ’ and his charge Tyson Fury would be “completely dead” if that prediction were to come true.
“We’ve all got our views on it, but I think that Deontay will beat him [Joshua]. I may be wrong, but if he does beat him then him and Tyson is completely dead in the water.”
“But it’s their choice.”
Talk of a fight between Joshua and Fury sprung up last week, however it was short lived as Joshua’s team confirmed they would be sticking to their original plan of facing Wilder in Saudi later this year.
Former unified world champion Joshua still looks set to fight over the summer on August 12th, potentially against old rival Dillian Whyte, with Hearn admitting that it was a ‘risk’ but was what the star’s team wanted.
Joshua is no stranger to boxing in Saudi Arabia, with the country playing host to his successful rematch against Andy Ruiz Jr back in 2019, as well as his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk last summer.
It appears that Skills Challenge Entertainment are determined to host AJ vs Wilder, even if they can’t agree terms for an undisputed fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk on the same card, as had been the original plan.
