Former 3-time world super-middleweight champion, Carl Froch has touched on what looks like a massive year for the unified IBF, IBO and WBA (Super) World heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua in 2018.
It has supposedly been said that Anthony Joshua and WBO world heavyweight champion, Joseph Parker have come to an agreement to schedule a unification showdown most likely to happen on March 31st.
The Cobra began by delivering his opinions on that match-up. “Well, let’s assume the Joseph Parker fight is next up, for a start. I honestly think Parker is better than people are saying but Joshua’s strength and size alone should see him get that WBO, too,” Froch told Sky Sports.
Whyte is probably the only one who is going to wind [Joshua] up in the build-up, but he needs to prove he is good enough first,” Froch commented.
Froch went on suggest the WBA mandatory challenger, Russia’s Alexander Povetkin takes on Dillian Whyte for the number one spot because he doesn’t have that title shot lined up anytime soon.
“I was going to say Alexander Povetkin now he’s the WBA mandatory, but what about putting him against Dillian Whyte and the winner gets to fight Josh?”

Froch then went on to share that he would like to see Anthony Joshua take on Deontay Wilder in an epic Las Vegas showdown for all four major world title belts.
“It’s got to be Deontay Wilder at the end of the year, in Las Vegas. Josh has done Wembley, he’s done Cardiff, so I want to see him in America.
Wilder is not the big ticket-seller in America like Josh is over here, but hopefully this time next year, he’s improved that.
A heavyweight world title fight with all four belts available. It has to be Vegas,” Froch concluded.
