# Joshua Advised To Build Up Confidence – ‘Fury Fight Will Always Be There’

Former world champion turned boxing pundit Barry Jones has weighed in with some advice for Anthony Joshua regarding a potential all British mega fight with Tyson Fury – and believes Joshua would be wise to bide his time.

Speaking to [Boxing Social](https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=311&v=s33EocnAjsw&feature=emb_title), Jones said he believed Joshua would be better off taking a couple of fights to regroup after losing out to Oleksandr Usyk for a second time before jumping in with Fury.

> “I don’t think it’s a great move for Joshua, I think he needs to get a win to build that confidence again like he did after the Ruiz fight, because that fight is always going to be there for him – that’s the truth.
>
> As long as they’re both still active in the sport, then that fights always there. Financially, it’s the biggest fight out there for both.
>
> Financially, Joshua is still a massive draw – he should take a couple of fights first and get warmed up.”

Although initial impressions were that a fight between Fury and Joshua was a real possibility, cold water was thrown on the chances, with Fury’s promoter [Frank Warren saying ‘The Gypsy King had “had enough” with the negotiations](https://wp.boxing-social.com/news/frank-warren-confirms-fury-had-enough-of-aj/) and would be moving on from a prospective meeting with Joshua.

It now appears Manuel Charr will be the opponent on December 3rd in Cardiff instead, [with Fury saying over the weekend it would be the German who got the call if AJ failed to sign terms by this past Monday](https://wp.boxing-social.com/news/tyson-fury-sends-message-to-charr/).

Yet again, a disappointing outcome for British fight fans who will be starting to wonder if they’ll ever see the heavyweight fight of a generation.
