After months of speculation, it felt like the undisputed heavyweight title fight between WBC king Tyson Fury and unified champion Anthony Joshua moved a little closer on Saturday night.
A resurgent Joshua KOed IBF mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev in nine rounds at the SSE Arena in Wembley yet, in his post-fight interview, the WBA Super, WBO and IBF title-holder refused to elaborate on a potential clash against the ‘Gypsy King’.
Fury was less than impressed and swiftly released a broadside on his social media channels.
“Well, there you go, everyone,” said Fury. “Anthony Joshua just shit himself live on television. He got asked did he want the fight, and he went around the bushes and put his ass in the edge.
“I want the fight! I want the fight next! I’ll knock him out inside three rounds! He’s a big bum dosser. Can’t wait to knock him out.”
Now the promoters go to work, hoping to make the biggest fight in British boxing history a reality.
