But today, according to multiple media reports, the news was leaked that the fight will happen in Manchester.
Promoter Kalle Sauerland had discussed the possibility of organising the fight either in London or Manchester.
โWeโve got a few options. The issue is putting them in the right order. Eubank-Groves Manchester or London, Smith-Braehmer likely for Berlin. I canโt see that both semis will be in the north of England if oneโs in Manchester,โ told the promoter in an interview with World Boxing News.
The Manchester Arena certainly holds some unpleasant memories for Groves.
Back in 2013, Groves faced then WBA and IBF champion Carl Froch. After nine rounds Froch had Groves rocked but not out. The stoppage by Howard John Foster caused massive controversy.

This time around Groves returns as the WBA World super middleweight champion. In his last fight in October ‘The Saint’ stopped Jamie Cox in round four and is looking to do the same to Eubank Jr who has also been on a tear lately.
The IBO World super middleweight champion has fought three times this year and definitely made a statement in his latest fight against Avni Yildirim in Stuttgart, Germany.
The Turkish brawler was no match for the faster and stronger Eubank Jr who showcased a great finish to put an end to the fight.

Titled as the ‘Battle Of Britain’, the WSBB super middleweight semi-final fight winner will advance to the final stage of the tournament and face the winner of Callum Smith versus Juergen Braehmer.
According to reports, the final battle for the Muhammad Ali Trophy will take place in May.
