Gervonta Davis ended his Las Vegas contest with Ryan Garcia via a crippling seventh round body shot.
The fight saw both men enter the ring undefeated and in their prime – one of the many reasons that it has been billed as the biggest the sport will see this year. Despite Garcia’s confidence, he rushed in in the second round and was dropped, and from then on ‘Tank’ largely dominated.
Just after the halfway stage he went on the attack again, and again Davis would make him pay. A shot to he liver saw Garcia take a knee and unable to rise to beat the count, with some fans questioning his will but others recognising the pain.
