Gervonta Davis has seemingly revealed Eddie Hearn’s offer to stage the Ryan Garcia fight – one which presumably came before it was announced to be happening without the promoter’s involvement.
Describing ‘Tank’s relationship with his former (?) promoters – Floyd Mayweather and Leonard Ellerbe – as fractious would be an understatement.
Given he may be on the market, offers are likely coming in. Davis took to social media to reveal one he claims to be from the British promoter, sharing a alleged private email and then blasting it as no good.
Dear Gervonta,
Further to our messages confirming you are no longer under promotional contract, we would like to make you the following offer for your next fight:
v Ryan Garcia in February/March 2023 on DAZN
PPV.
Guaranteed purse of US$10 million.
PPV bonus to be agreed.
Look forward to hearing from you. As I said, I am in Cleveland this week and would be happy to fly you out to discuss face to face.
Thanks,
Eddie

Davis, as he does, deleted the post quickly. The boxing world, as they do, screen-shotted it beforehand.
Despite the handsome offer, the relationship between the two doesn’t look great. Hearn has been open about his desire to work with ‘Tank’, recognising the star he is and what the future could hold, but the fighter has poured cold water on that with these tweets.
He went on to say that the promoter has offered him a sum that he was already making, plus more.

For his part, Hearn was less interested in a couple of tweets and more concerned with watching the Three Lions.
With all due respect..It’s coming home so I’ll speak to you later 🏴

Davis and Garcia are set to face off in Las Vegas in April next year provided they both come through their fights in between now and then.
The broadcast is likely to be produced by Showtime but also available on DAZN, given that Garcia has an exclusive deal with the streaming service.
Regardless of his thoughts on the offer, sharing the private communication surely won’t bode well for any future working relationships Davis hopes to enter.
