# Gervonta Davis Shuts Down Devin Haney Sparring Rumours: “Did He Tell You That?”

Gervonta Davis has spoken about a possible clash against Devin Haney and referenced their sparring sessions as to how the fight would go.

[Davis is coming off a career best win against Ryan Garcia, stopping ‘King Ryan’ with a body shot](https://www.theguardian.com/sport/live/2023/apr/22/gervonta-davis-v-ryan-garcia-live-boxing-fight) that catapulted the Baltimore native into superstardom in the process.

Haney controls all the belts in the lightweight division but is fresh out of a more controversial victory. ‘The Dream’ outpointed Vasiliy Lomachenko in a very close, tactical fight, but the general consensus amongst fans is that the Ukrainian should have walked away as the undisputed champion.

The two young Americans appear to be on a collision course to face each other at some point, and ‘Tank’ reacted furiously to suggestions that Haney got the better of him in sparring.

> “They’ve \[Devin Haney and Shakur Stevenson\] all been in the ring with me, they’ve all been in the ring and I’ve cracked them both, I cracked both of them.
>
> Devin Haney is no 50/50 fight, how you going to keep me off him when he’s got no power.
>
> I sparred him twice, the first time his father took him out the ring, I almost knocked him out in Floyd’s gym, did they tell you that – did they tell you that?!”

He then sent a direct warning message to Haney.

> “Be prepared because I’m coming straight for him.”

Davis is undoubtedly the money fight in the division and arguably the A-side against Haney even without any titles. His bout against Garcia reportedly sold north of 1 million pay-per-views, whereas [Haney’s undisputed clash against Lomachenko is rumoured to have generated only 150,000.](https://wp.boxing-social.com/news/devin-haney-vasiliy-lomachenko-ppv-buys/)
