# Gonzalez-Estrada III falls foul of Covid-19, Garcia-Martin new main event on October 16

Boxing’s most devastating adversary has struck again with the news that Covid-19 has ruled out Roman Gonzalez from his eagerly awaited trilogy fight with Juan Francisco Estrada on October 16.

The clash is now likely to take place in November, according to *ESPN Deportes*.

Nicaraguan Gonzalez originally defeated Estrada in November 2012 and seemed to have repeated the trick in their rematch in March, only for the judges to award the Mexican a hotly contested split decision.

A third meeting was inevitable, but Gonzalez-Estrada III is the latest fight to fall foul of a positive Covid-19 test following the likes of Tyson Fury-Deontay Wilder III, Brandon Figueroa-Stephen Fulton, Teofimo Lopez-George Kambosos and Conor Benn-Adrian Granados.

According to *ESPN.com’s* Mike Coppinger, four-weight champion Mikey Garcia will now face Spain’s reigning European 140lbs champion Sandor Martin in a replacement main event on DAZN, possibly in Texas.

Garcia-Martin will take place at a catchweight of 145lbs.
