“Good progress” is being made in ongoing discussions to secure a fight between Joe Joyce and Joseph Parker.
The two highly ranked heavyweight contenders need to remain active while the title picture plays out between this month and the summer.
“It’s a massive fight. We’re still negotiating it – it’s not finalised yet but good progress is being made,” S-Jam Sports’ Adam Morallee, who represents Joyce, told Sky Sports.
“It’s the biggest fight outside the top four guys fighting. It’s the biggest fight on the heavyweight scene right now.”
Joyce is recovering from a wrist injury and hasn’t fought since his 6th round stoppage win against Carlos Takam last July.
Parker, the former WBO heavyweight champion, picked up consecutive wins over Dereck Chisora in his last two fights under the tutelage of new trainer Andy Lee.
