Kubrat Pulev’s co-promoter Ivaylo Gotzev says his man is already in “beast mode” and primed to deliver a stunning knockout, as the Bulgarian prepares diligently for his postponed clash with Anthony Joshua despite no new date being fixed.
WBA Super, WBO and IBF champion Joshua was originally scheduled to face IBF mandatory challenger Pulev on June 20 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before the Covid-19 Pandemic disrupted those plans.
Gotsev says Pulev has been further motivated by talk of a two-fight series between Joshua and WBC champion Tyson Fury in 2021 and is now promising a knockout. Overlook the Bulgarian behemoth at your peril.
“Kubrat is going to be in his face. Kubrat is in beast mode, he’s ready to take this man and shred him into pieces. The knockout is coming,” a bullish Gotsev told The Daily Mail.
“You’ve got to be able to take it, not only give it, can he take it? That’s the question. They’re focusing too much on those big paydays and the big picture, but guess what, the big picture right now is Kubrat, that’s who they should be focusing on. And he will give AJ the fight of his life.
“Pulev will take him out of competition when he knocks him out. Kubrat’s thinking, ‘Let them do all the planning, then let me get that Tyson Fury fight’. Because defeating AJ will create a great podium for a Tyson Fury showdown.”
