Frank Warren revealed his newest acquisition on Thursday afternoon at a press conference in London. Ricky Hatton’s heavyweight protege Nathan Gorman is now a face boxing fans will see a lot more of. The giant of a man is only 21 years old and has had under ten professional fights so far but boxing is in his blood.
“My family has been bare knuckle boxers for hundreds of years. My great uncle was a former king of the boxing world, Bartley Gorman. I believe boxing is bread in me. I’ve been working with Ricky for sixteen months and I’ve had nine professional fights. I have had a good career so far. I’m every day in the gym with Rick and I’m looking forward to showcasing my skills to the public,” commented Gorman
He has been training exclusively with Hatton and is obviously enjoying working alongside his childhood idol.
“I grew up watching Ricky. This was was my hero growing up. Obviously getting the chance to work with is phenomenal,” told Gorman
When asked about his goals in boxing, Gorman wasted no moment and replied immediately with a proper statement.
“To be the best heavyweight on the planet. That’s where I want to be.”
Hatton then picked up and continued on the subject.
“That’s the attitude you’ve got to have. He wants to be the best. If you don’t want to be the best then you don’t come to my gym,” summarised Hatton.
