Most people in boxing would potentially suffer a cut whilst fighting inside the ring, but for promoter Eddie Hearn, his came after an excited celebration went wrong.
The boxing world has already seen a bad cut dampen things this month, after Tyson Fury was forced to postpone tonight’s undisputed heavyweight title showdown with Oleksandr Usyk until May 18, due to the ‘Gypsy King’ suffering the injury in sparring.
It meant a major event was off the boxing calendar, but there were still some big fights taking place this weekend, including in Tajikistan, where one of Hearn’s promoted fighters, Eduardo ‘Sugar’ Nunez, was facing former world champion Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov.
The Matchroom Boxing chief was remotely watching the fight between ‘Sugar’ and Rakhimov, when Nunez earned an impressive 11th round stoppage victory.
In the excitement, Hearn jumped up and hit his head on an ornament above him, leaving him covered in blood, as shown in the clip posted by Frank Smith on Twitter.

Despite the injury, Hearn was able to promote his event in Mexico on Friday, which saw Sivenathi Nontshinga gain revenge as he stopped Adrian Curiel to win back his IBF light-flyweight title. A bout against Sunny Edwards could now be on the cards for Nontshinga.
