On July 1, heavyweight sensation Jared Anderson is making his much-anticipated home debut in Toledo and many believe he can be a future ruler of the division.
His promotional outfit Top Rank is investing heavily in their man, and he is certainly backing himself to come out on top against anyone he may fight.
The American who goes by ‘The Real Big Baby’, faces off against late replacement Charles Martin who is a former IBF heavyweight world title holder.
Martin is a solid foe as well as yardstick against which Anderson can compare himself to Anthony Joshua, who knocked Martin out inside two rounds back in 2016 to lift his first world title.
In the latest episode of Top Rank’s Relentless, Anderson’s says he can make it all the way to the top of boxing’s blue ribbon division.
“Jared Anderson can be the next undisputed heavyweight champion.”
The seemingly humble Anderson went on to say.
“I’m willing to do what others won’t. I’m willing to break myself down and build myself back up.”
Anderson has won all 14 of his fights by knockout so far and has gone just 31 rounds total. This has earned him the attention of Tyson Fury who has praised the fast-rising contender, and Anderson has also enjoyed the company of the great multi-division champion Roy Jones Jr. in his latest fight camp.
As much as Anderson is winning plenty of fans for what he is doing with his fists, he is also winning people over with his candid persona, as seen when he broke down after a recent pep talk by Jones Jr.
