Despite being knocked down on numerous occasions throughout his career, Tyson Fury has always managed to get back to his feet and find a way to win.
‘The Gypsy King’ was sent to the canvas on four separate occasions during his epic trilogy with Deontay Wilder, yet always beat the count and emerged from the three fights with two wins and a very questionable draw.
However, another heavyweight contender has called into question Fury’s chin and has vowed to knock him out should he ever get the opportunity.
Fresh off his shock stoppage win over Joe Joyce last month, Chinese southpaw Zhilei Zhang made the comments in a recent interview with IFL TV.
“Let’s do that fight. Yeah I can finish Tyson Fury, he doesn’t have that chin, he will go down. I will knock him out.”
Despite being a wide betting underdog, Zhang put on a career best performance against Joyce at London’s Copper Box Arena, comprehensively outboxing him and damaging his eye to the point where he was no longer medically fit to continue.
Zhang had been seen as a front runner to land a shot at the WBC heavyweight champion, although these plans now look to have been scuppered after Joyce confirmed he had activated a contractual rematch clause and would look to pencil in another meeting with ‘Big Bang.’
It is now unclear whether or not Fury will have a fight over the summer, with Andy Ruiz Jr and former UFC star Francis Ngannou amongst the names linked to the Brit.
Talks have reportedly resumed for an undisputed fight between Fury and Usyk, with Skills Challenge intending to host the historic clash on the same night as Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder in Saudi Arabia this December.
