Anthony Joshua looks set to return to the ring this summer and plenty of heavyweights have thrown their name into the hat to be the man in the opposite corner.
One man who’s been especially vocal about wanting the fight is controversial American, Jarrell Miller.
Miller and ‘AJ’ have history. The two were scheduled to meet at Madison Square Garden back in 2019, but after a fiery build-up and just weeks out from the fight, ‘Big Baby’ tested positive for three banned substances.
He was pulled from the clash and replaced with Andy Ruiz Jr – who went on to cause one of the biggest upsets in boxing history.
Since then Miller has been on a redemption path of sorts, and with no defeats in 27 fights, and the ability to trash talk with the best of them, a big fight seems inevitable for the Brooklyn native.
Speaking to Stamina For Sale about the possibility of being Joshua’s next opponent, the 34 year-old said he would ‘annihilate’ the Brit if he got the chance.
“I’ll annihilate him! Retire him! Send him back packing, plain and simple. I’m not playing no games with nobody, I’m playing no games. There is bad blood there in a boxing sense so it would be great entertainment.
It’s nothing personal I just don’t care for him, but when I see you on my radar, I don’t like you, I don’t like anything about you, I want to rip your guts outs and nothing going to change that.
I’m not going anywhere for a while, I’m back, I’m here to stay and I’m coming with vengeance and if anybody wants the smoke they know I’m here. I’m back baby.”
After a big u-turn in negotiations, Dillian Whyte has once again become the frontrunner to face Joshua next, with a contract sent from Eddie Hearn.
